Best cream for severly chapped hands?

I have been avoiding the things that typically make dry skin worse (real hot water, excessive washing, etc) and been slathering myself with all kinds of heavy duty creams (neutrogena norweigan, Vitamin A %26amp; D ointment, Eucerin Cream, Lachydrin, etc) and the problem seems to be getting worse!

Any suggestions?

Best cream for severly chapped hands?
This may sound crazy, but try an overnight foot cream. Rub it all over your hands at night (don't worry about rubbing it IN, just slab it all over the place), and sleep with a pair of spa gloves on. When you wake up, your hands should be smoother. Rub them together a bit before washing them (and don't wash too vigorously). As soon as you're done washing them, apply a good moisturizing lotion, and you're good to go! Carry around hand lotion in your purse to use throughout the day.

I use Sally Hansen's overnight foot cream (99 cents for a one-time-use packet). The spa gloves shouldn't be too much more than $5. Jergen's moisturizing lotion (about $5), and Vasaline Healthy Hands %26amp; Nail ($3) to carry in my purse. I get it all from Rite Aid and it works wonders!

Good luck!! Let me know if you try it and if it works! :)
Reply:I went to the pharmacy and picked up "Crack Cream" (i know funny name) but anyways it made my hands as smooth as a baby's bottem lol
Reply:I have had this problem before and have tried many different things. The best I found were Gold Bond Hand Lotion and Corn Husker Lotion . The Corn Husker done the trick for healing but the Gold Bond seems to help keep them from getting back that way. Good Luck.
Reply:Eucerin makes Aquaphor...it's thicker and clear, it works great for severely chapped skin and eczema! Try using Dove soap that'll be less harsh on your hands.
Reply:The best over-the-counter (otc) hand and body moisturizer that I have found and have used it for years is Curel original formula (Not 'unscented' as it doesn't have a pleasant 'fragrance' ;) It is very emollient and tend to be very soothing.

I actually have eczema (dormant at the present time, knock wood :) or dry, itchy skin and in addition to the curel cream, my family dr had given me a prescription for Diprolene which worked well too (and in conjunction with the curel). Perhaps you should see your dr about your severe chapped hands too.
Reply:i would reccomend Jergens cream. It heals rough, dry skin as well. And its smoothens your skin. I like it. If not then Aveeno cream another one i would choose!
