What can I do about my combination "winter" skin problems?

My face gets messed up every winter. When I wash my face (usually once or twice a day at the most) it dries out and gets red. Then because its dry, my skin pumps out more oil to make up for it, giving me bad breakouts

I cant use any lotions or moisturizers or Ill break out. And my skin doesnt like any of those acne creams, they just make it worse. During the summer my face is pretty much blemish free. Im guessing its because I swim and am outdoors in the sun alot...I live in Ohio if that helps...winter sucks.

Using a cool-mist humidifier will help keep your skin from getting so dried out in the Winter. It also keep you healthier and cuts down on static from dry indoor heat. Putting one where you spend most your time or in your bedroom overnight will help. You may have sensitive skin but moisturizing is still the best thing you can do for winter dryness. Neutrogena has an oil-free moisturizer for sensitive skin that is oil-free, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic (won't clog pores), hypo-allergenic and fragrance. It would moisturize your skin without causing breakouts. You can check it out at neutrogena.com. It's very light-weight and works great (live in Ohio too).
Reply:my skin does the same thing and i have very sensitive skin as well. what works for me is i add sugar to my facewash which gets the dry skin off and i have found a lotion that works it is very light and made for sensitive skin. it is called ceophyll i may have spelled it wrong but get the sensitive one. and i also go to tanning beds which really helps i know its weird and ppl say its bad for your skin but it clears my skin up! by drying out the blemishes!! good luck. and yes winter sucks i am from Michigan!
Reply:Have you heard of Arbonne Intelligence System is for people with your type of skin, it self adjusts, avoiding break outs and excesive amount of oil. It also has exfoliation which is recommended for at least once a week. Let me know if you like a free sample to try at home.
