Super dry skin question?

i'm going to the Himalayas for skiing this Christmas! The thing is, my (body) skin is usually dry already even in the humid weather and i'm scared that my skin wont be able to tolerate the cold. do you know any body creams or anything that will keep my skin from cracking in the super cold weather? Please share it with us if you know how to keep your skin looking good in winter, thanks!

Super dry skin question?
Vaseline. It works really well. They also have it in a "baby" version that smells like baby powder %26amp;%26amp; i personally think it keeps your skin a lot smoother because it has the effects that baby treatments do. I hope this helped %26amp;%26amp; i hope u have a safe %26amp;%26amp; fun trip.
Reply:take some AQUEOUS CREAM its great it cures most dry skin problems
Reply:Try skin cream or face cream
Reply:My brother has super dry skin as well. I believe he uses Curel and/or Lubriderm lotions. In the winter he does not shower every day, usually every other. He just washes up in the necessary areas, like armpits, privates, and face. Every time you shower you are getting rid of all of your natural oils making you even dryer. The same goes if you have dry hair, which I am sure yours isn't greasy with having such dry skin and could go a day without washing. Some people may think it is gross to not shower every day, but when you are dry like that there are no oils or sweat to make you 'dirty'.

Have fun on your trip!
Reply:First, take cooler, not cold, showers. The hot water dries your skin out faster. When you get out of the shower, towel dry, but be a little damp when you put lotion on. Use oil of olay on your face or ponds cream on your face. Make sure they say moisturizing and not just eye makeup remover. For your hands, you can buy something called Bert's Beeswax. It works awesome on your hands. Either that or try Goldbond Ultra Healing lotion. It is very thick and works really well at moisturizing.
Reply:Oooo, sounds like fun! I have dry skin also. You need to hydrate your skin from the inside out. Eat lots of fruit and veggies, watch your sodium and alcohol intake (I know you are out having fun..!) and drink lots of water.

Use a body wash that is moisturizing and that does not contain soap as soap can be drying. I use Neutrogena Illuminating facial wash on my face and Oil of Olay shea butter body wash (it's the one with the yellow lid). When you are taking a shower or bath make sure the water is not too hot, even though it might be your first inclination after coming in from the hills. Hot water is very drying on the skin so be careful, use just warm water (that goes for your face too!). Don't dry off vigorously upon getting out of the shower. Very gently pat yourself dry and put some lotion on. I use Jason's hand and body lotion that is unscented/ or Vaseline Intensive care for dry skin. Both have vitamin E which is good for the skin. Test out your lotion, you want to make sure that it is actually soaking into your skin and not just sitting on top.

Most likely if you are going to have skin cracks they will appear on hands, lips, elbows and feet so you really want to keep those areas hydrated.Sometimes before bed I'll put lotion on my hands and feet covered with a thin layer of vaseline and then wear gloves/socks.

Try not to use anything that is artificially scented as fragrances are drying. Also, there is an ingredient called "sodium laureth sulfate/sodium lauryl sulfate" and it is a synthetic ingredient that is added to soaps. It is what makes soaps foam but it also very drying on your skin so you end up with a viscious cycle of drying out your skin and then applying moisturizer to make up for it.
Reply:look heres what you need to do I do this every two weeks at night or when you wake up take a bath a hot bath with moisturizing Conditioner and baby oil use a bout 25% of the baby oil and when you get out pat your slef dry it works really good
Reply:You need a good spa type moisturizer. Stay away from the cheap drugstore brands, just like make-up they are full of oils and fillers. What happens is the cheap ones just cover up the problem with oils and grease. Get the Bee-Luscious Hydrating Creme Concentrate for Body. This moisturizer heals and moisturizes with all natural ingredients. It's never oily or greasy and your skin will feel velvety soft. You will love the way it makes your skin feel. You can only get it on-line or from a high end spa or salon. I am posting the link to their web-site so it will be easy for you to find.
