Hard skin on feet?

Hi, I've always had really hard skin on the heels of my feet and it always gets bad in the winter because it gets even drier. The skin always splits and bleeds often as well. Its bad at the minute too even tho I use a pummis stone when I've been in the shower and use that Scholl heel repair cream. Does anyone know of any other products or anything that work because its really frustrating!

Hard skin on feet?
Body Butter works wonders, especially right after the pumis stone.
Reply:My feet are not that bad, but I wear alot of sandals that contributes to the problem. Try using this cream called Eucerin. It is usually for diabetics but it works good for people who are not diabetics. I use it about once a week after a pedicure. Also you can try putting vaseline all over your feet and putting two pairs of socks on over it and in the morning your feet will be baby soft. You may have to do this a series of times to get the effect but it will work. You can also try this product from Mary Kay called satin hands(they have for just the hands or for the body) it doesnt matter it is the same product. GET THIS, you can probably get it off eBay. You will see a difference. It is a gentle exfoliation of dead skin not like a pumice stone. Start with Mary Kay, then do vaseline, then do Eucerin, in a week you should see results. Mary Kay should only be done once a week though. The Eucerin is about 5 dollars for a little tube in walmart will last you a couple of weeks. Warning though it stinks, but hey what do you expect, it made of syntheic urea(pee)
Reply:My mother has been diagnosed with diabetes and she has always had hard, dry feet like that you describe. Check with your doctor and see if there is a medical condition that is causing your woes. In the meantime, Joan Rivers makes a cream for feet called Absolutely Magic. This product does what it claims. The cracks in her heels were cleared in about a week and her feet are smooth. There was such a difference, I applied it to my feet. The smell was icky, like Vick's Vapor rub, but it lasted and was creamy! I was told (old wives's tale) that Vick's Vapor Rub will work as well, we never tried that, but I know the lotion works. Good Luck!
Reply:Do not walk with bare feet anywhere. After bath, do clean and dry up your feet with a soft towel and then apply a good moisturizing cream on them. wear cotton socks and do not manipulate your heels much!
Reply:i use lush fair trade foot lotion on my feet its very thick and moisturising
Reply:i recently asked this question i got 34 answers im gonna post the link hold on...........
Reply:Many years ago, I bought a hard skin tool from Boots. It looks like a small paddle. One side is coarse, the other is smoother, (similar to sandpaper). It is the finest hard skin remover I have ever used. Like many people, the skin hardens when wearing sandals, and the heel is exposed. During winter, I seldom need to use it. I still have the same paddle - it is much more durable than ordinary sandpaper!

The secret is to always use it (coarse side first), BEFORE washing/bathing your feet. The dryness of your feet create a friction between the hard skin and the paddle. You can visibly see the fine powder it creates. After smoothing with the reverse side, you can then wash your feet, not forgetting some moisturising creme to rub in afterwards. (If bathing your feet in a bowl of water - after a hot, tiring day - add some moisturiser to the water, along with whatever soap/creme you use).

I find that in order not to get the offending dry skin bits, all over the bathroom, I rest my toes on the rim of the toilet, so the flakes/powder goes straight down the loo!!

This paddle will eliminate the toughest of skin on your feet - I hope that they still sell them...
Reply:Try soaking your feet for a while then rub over with a really good pumice stone, dry properly, then apply a good moisture cream for feet, I use Flexitol Heel Balm, it's really good especially if you do this at night and after using moisture cream put on a pair of cotton trainer socks over night, this gives the cream chance to really soak in, do it regularly though or it won't work, try and get fresh air to feet also.
Reply:E 45 is a really good softener massage into your feet before you go to bed and put COTTON socks on every night you will soon see a big difference Scholl do a hard skin remover it looks a bit like a cheese grater use that after soaking your feet
Reply:i have suffered from this problem to i use hair conditioner i know it sounds silly but it works after a bath rub it in your feet and leave it to dry in
Reply:Pop some vaseline on and then wrap in cling film....wonderful feeling and especially good on a cold day, will warm your feet as well as making them soft!
Reply:its expensive but buy the best shoe sock that sponges your feet it wont do a lot for the hard skin but it will get you through the day
Reply:i would recommend getting your feet a good pedicure from a professional who will give you guidance on the correct procedure to keep you feet in good condition - i used to buy all different types of creams and lotions but until i decided to splash out on a proper treatment i've never looked back and i buy my foot cream from them - CCS Skin Care (made in Sweden) the smallest amount really works
Reply:soak your feet

use the pummis stone

then use lashings of moisturiser
Reply:The problem is that you don't air your feet much so this happens, my husband gets what you have and believes that the only way his is better is to wear sandal's with no socks as this will air the feet well, he also has tried alot of creams and this seemed to work for him, i know you cant wear these all winter but try this before winter comes and you will have given your feet a good length of time to heal, you have now until the end of September.
Reply:try using vaseline thats all i use!x
Reply:you can get washing creme made of salts from the dead sea use it with a punice and lather your feet with cream b4 bed and sleep in socks i had the same prob that dead sea salt is amazing
Reply:I have this problem too. I use the walmart brand of lotrium cream instead of lotions and ointments. It helps wonderfully. It not only heals the cuts but it makes your skin smoother and softer. At first your skin will ridge and flake. This is due to the dead skin cell build up. In about 2 weeks of regular use, say hello to newer healthier skin. It costs about $4 for a months supply. I've used other foot creams too, even medicated and nothing worked but this cream. I hope this helps you.
