Dry baby skin?

my baby has very dry skin it dries up wthin mins after i put on any kind of baby lotion or cream. i need help urgently please..

Dry baby skin?
Bathe baby only once a week, and sponge little areas that might need a little freshning up.

Every night before bed, use olive oil with some lavender oil mixed in and give baby a good long rub down. Use enough oil to make your hands smoothly pass over baby, but not so much that baby is shinny. Put a sleeper on baby and when baby wakes up, do the same thing.

Skin is an organ, and babies skin absorbes everything you put on it, including any chemicals in the lotion, purfurmes etc. This might be causing a reaction that makes it look dry.

Stop using laundry soap all together on babies cloths, use a little baking soda and some tea-tree oil to kill any bacteria. Make sure the rince cycle is on long to get rid of any residue. You'd be amazed how much soap comes out wash after wash of just water! Laundry soap is a big cause for allergic reactions and dry skin issues.

Drying the day allow baby to wear cloths that aren't too tight to encourage good air flow which will help keep moisture off skin which can lead to more dry skin.

After a week or two of using just the olive oil, and it isn't better speak with your doctor about it. Perhaps baby might have an allergic reaction to something else in the house. Tips to try also, no purfume on mom or dad for a while, no baby lotions, no soap in the bath unless it is all natural (look for no Sodium Laurel Sulphates, this is a harsh cleaner), no baby powders etc. Everyone of these is bad for dry skin and harmful to baby if put in the mouth, or breathed in. So just don't use them.

I hope you find this helpful, it really should do the trick
Reply:you need to speak to a pediatrician but i think you should try dove or ivory soap, it has moisturizers in it.
Reply:You could try vaseline. You can also try oatmeal baths and putting baby oil into the bathwater to help too; make sure it's not the soap drying it out. Here's a link w/more info:

Good luck.
Reply:Hi, have a chat with your local pharmacist,
Reply:go to the doctors
Reply:I'm not sure where you are, but try a special dry skin oil from the pharmacy and no soap in the bath just water and the oil. Then use a special dry skin moisturiser, ask your pharmacist they should be able to help you. If it starts to crack or bleed go and see your doctor.
Reply:My first advice is for you to go see a pediatrician, first. What really worked for my babies' skin was Kloran baby lotion after bath with callendula extract. It was really good for their skin. Good luck!
Reply:The doctor told me to se lever 2000 to bath my babies (i have used it for 5 years now w/ 2 children), and use lubraderm lotion, it has worked wonders for both children which have had severely dry skin
Reply:I used eucerin cream on my baby when she had extremely dry skin. It definately helped. They gave it to me right at the hospital before I brought her home with us.
