I hate oily skin!!!!!!!!!!?
Firstly, stop washing your face so often: twice per day is enough and washing too often will strip your skin of natural oils and cause a rebound effect (you will produce MORE oil than ever!).

I found creams containing benzoyl peroxide to be effective (Clearasil Ultra, Panoxyl, Proactiv) at drying skin and controlling oil production and acne. However, odd as it may sound, applying jojoba oil to your skin works well to control oil production. Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax and very similar to your skin's natural oil (sebum). Applying it to your face fools your skin into thinking that it's moist enough and sebum production actually slows down! Jojoba is absorbed quickly, and doesn't make skin greasy. It's very cheap and a little goes a long way. Apply once/twice per day after washing: just rub 1-2 drops into your skin and wipe off excess with a tissue.

Finally think about this: although oily skin may seem bad now, those with oily skin age MUCH less quickly than those with drier skins and will have far fewer lines and wrinkles when they get older. You may not appreciate this now but you will one day. My mother has this skin type (as do I) and although she is nearly 70 she is regularly mistaken for someone who is only 52 or 53!!
Reply:witchhazel may help
Reply:A no der thinkin LOL lyke LOL eh man eh wot LOL.

Type properly.

And buy some exfoliating face wash.
Reply:Oatmeal and Honey Mask

An oatmeal and honey mask can be very effective for treating oily skin. Simply make a paste using uncooked oatmeal, honey, and lemon juice. Spread this mixture on your face, and use extreme caution around the eyes. Leave the mask on for about ten minutes, and rinse it off with warm water. Dab your face dry with an absorbent towel.
Reply:Ugh...me too. My skin is so freakishly oily and nothing seems to help.

I had heard friends complaining that ProActive (the informercial acne stuff) really dried out their skin, so I tried it even though I don't have an acne problem. It helped a little but not much. Interestingly, I seemed to be oilier when I used their "daily oil control" than when I didn't!

My best advice is to not use super-hot water when you wash and not to over-wash, as this stimulates the oil glands.

And take a small amount of pleasure in the fact that we probably won't get all dry and crocodile-skinned when we get older!
Reply:freederms good for really oily skin, my skins is kinda oily %26amp; it dried my face out too much-but if your skin is as oliy as you say it should be good for you
Reply:Oily skin is NOT a curse, it's a blessing. Let me show you why and give possible solutions (each person is different) for controlling it. I speak from experience because I once had oily skin.

Oily skin, as all olther types, is inherited. The oil causes your skin to not wrinkle as quickly, and, because it is oily, your skin requires less mosturizing than other skin types.

There are oil-free cosmetics on the market (Almay is one of the top brands, although I always used Covergirl oil-free). In time, as years go by ( I won't tell you my age because you might feel you're looking at an answer from your mother), the oil NATURALLY decreases and the oily skin must be rebalanced with a larger amount of mosturizer.
Reply:May I suggest using a shampoo for oily hair too - start from the top.

You need to wash your face twice a day - and do a good hydrating wash, toner [yes witch hazel] and a light day cream

repeat at night and use a night cream.

Twice a week use an exfoliant

and once a week use a mask -

Stop washing so much and let your face be "you"

add acne cream as needed and drink water, rest, and take vitamins - if you use a regime over night your skin may change.
Reply:Clinique do some good oil blotting sheets. Also No7 do a make up base which is oil free. Philosophy also do an oil control clear make up which I've used and got on really well with - see link:

The key is to always ensure the products you use on your face are oil free....Clarins have a new range out at the moment called hydro matte (or something like that - it's in green packaging) which is aimed at people with oily skin.

Good foundations:

Estee Laude double wear - they give out testers so you can see how you get on

Revlon do an oil free foundation called stay wear or something that I quite like

Clarins do an oil free as part of the hydro matte range - I have heard it's meant to be good.

Lancome and Dior also do oil free matte foundations.

I think the key is to get a good oil free base first. I also like those blotting sheets!
