I have combination skin and am wondering if it's a good idea to use a non pore-clogging lotion or cream on my face at night that's really moisturizing so that the dry areas of my face aren't red and irritated. If so, do you know of any good products like that?
Combination skin?
the great thing about moisturizer is you don't have to put it all over your face, just the areas that need it. i have similar problems with my face from time to time, and something that I've found that works very well is Eucerine redness relief night cream. it's inexpensive at any drugstore (under$10) and works great. i get dry spots on my nose and above my eyebrows, so i just rub a little on in those places, and in the morning, presto! good as new!
Reply:try using olay. there are these little pads/sponges that are really good! i don't know the exact name but you can find it in longs or walgreens or any other drugstore.
Reply:umm my used to use olay, sry i forgo the name, just go into a store n look aorund!
Reply:You need to correct your PH of your skin. I have horribly sensitive and combo skin. I recently found (after tons of research) a great product. The company is called Arbonne. I loved it so much I started selling to my friends. The skin care balances your PH and is self adjusting. It's botanically based and doesn't use chemicals or dyes. It sounds perfect for you! Reply:you should definitely use a cleanser and moisturizer twice a day try Mary Kay skin care for combination skin type http://www.marykay.com/s_azad/skincare/m...

Reply:It's best to use products that are formulated for your skin type rather than using one that's specifically for another as this can create problems for the oily or blemished areas of your skin.

~SKINCARE INSTRUCTIONS~
-You will need: Cleanser, Toner (or Astringent), Cotton Balls, Moisturizer, Mask (or Masque), Extractor (found at most beauty supply stores), and either a facial steamer or hand towel for steaming. All products should be for your skin type and from one product line.
-Recommended Products (based on what you've said here about your skin):
Cleanser %26amp; Moisturizer- http://www.neutrogena.com/SosSolution_3....
Toner- http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...
Exfoliate- http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail... (Don't use it daily, only once a week with your facial)
Mask- http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...
-Morning and night (before going to bed): cleanse, tone, and moisturize. 2-3 times a week include steaming (in this order: cleanse, tone, steam, tone, moisturize).
-Once a week: cleanse, tone, steam, exfoliate, tone, *extractions, tone, mask, tone, moisturize.
*Don't begin doing extractions until you have been following all of the other steps for at least 2 weeks, so that the steaming will have caused the blackheads to begin to soften.
-How to: *
Cleanse -use a small amount and lather with water, apply using circular motions all over face and neck, repeat if you have makeup on
Tone - Squeeze a small amount onto the cottonball and wipe all over face and neck
Steam - for 10-15 minutes, use one of these methods - facial steamer, hold your face 3-5 inches above steaming water, or drape a hot towel over your face (leaving your nostrils and/or mouth exposed)
Exfoliate - follow the same steps as in cleansing, but don't repeat
Extractions - place the hoop (or eye) over the blemish (or blackhead) so that the blemish is in the center of the hoop, apply slight pressure and use rocking and rolling movements all around the blemish (don't use so much pressure that you create indentions or bruises on your skin), if and when the blockage comes out of the pore, wipe away with a cottonball that has been dampened with toner
Mask - apply mask evenly on face and neck, leave for 10-15 minutes, remove by draping a hot towel over your face, then wiping away
Moisturize - apply a small amount on face an neck and massage until it's absorbed
*In all of these steps, always avoid the eye area.
-Also include a fairly healty diet rich in vitamins and minerals, plenty of water, and sufficient exercise* in each day, as all of these things not only have a positive effect on your body, but your skin as well.
